Gild Hall – Financial District Hotels

Gild Hall is a luxury hotel located in downtown Manhattan. It is part of the Thompson Hotel Group, which operates multiple hotels within New York City and many more around the world. Gild Hall is located on historic Gold Street, and brings a new level of design savvy and service to Manhattan’s illustrious Financial District. Designed by Jim Walrod, the simple yet luxurious rooms feature oversized leather-tufted headboards and elegant custom-designed wooden furniture, topped with rich flannel throws and mahogany details. The hotel features a bi-level Library Bar perfectly suited for intimate cocktails and private parties alike, The Libertine, a reinterpreted English tavern serving modern pub fare, and 126 handsome, cosmopolitan rooms and suites. Effortlessly blending classical European sensibility with American contemporary style, Gild Hall serves as a modern-day gentleman’s club for downtown Manhattan’s elite.

Features and Amenities

Rooms at Gild Hall range in size and bed configurations, but all boast custom 400-thread-count SFERRA linens, custom headboards by Jim Walrod, 12-foot ceilings with antique brass chandeliers, luxurious bathrooms with marble floors, oversized terry robes by Frette, bathroom amenities by C.O. Bigelow, LCD flat-screen TVs, iPod docks and mini-bars with Dean & Deluca snacks. The rooms have a masculine, country-club feel to them, thanks to lots of leather and lots of plaid. These are manly rooms that will suit females as well – thanks to the sheer amount of attention paid to the detail in the interior design of the space. There is one penthouse suite at Gild Hall, which boasts all of the above amenities as well as 850 square feet of living space. You’ll find a master bedroom with optional connecting room, dining room, lounge area, and full service kitchen.

Guests at Gild Hall enjoy round the clock concierge services, in room dining, twice daily housekeeping services with turn down, valet parking, airport transportation and chauffeured car services, wifi internet access and business center, delivery of domestic and international newspapers by request and more.

Modeled after a modern English tavern, The Libertine is an in-house restaurant that echos the theme of country club chic. This urban refuge is perfect for those for those seeking high-end comfort food in a cozy yet sleek atmosphere. The menu features traditional favorites with a twist, creative small plates, and a full raw bar. Meanwhile, the space itself is all mahogany and leather, dim lights and lots of ambiance.

If drinking is more your speed, the Library Bar is an ideal respite from the hustle and bustle of Wall Street. Situated on the second floor of Gild Hall, the Library Bar is a perfect spot for after-work cocktails, intimate meetings, or casual late-night cocktails.

Location

Gild Hall is located on the historic Gold Street in the Financial District in downtown Manhattan. Formerly reserved for the hustle and bustle of Wall Street suits during the day, the Financial District is slowly becoming the foremost residential neighborhood in the city. The neighborhood boasts a bevy of subway lines, so you can go up the east side or the west side (no small feat in Manhattan) from the hotel, and the proliferation of luxury condominiums and apartment buildings mean that restaurants and bars are sprouting up left and right. The Financial District can be overwhelming by day, but come nightfall, the area quiets down significantly, which out of town travelers will appreciate. The hustle and bustle of Times Square won’t be found down here – on the contrary, Gild Hall is located in a place where you can relax and put your feet up once your long day of sightseeing is done.
