The much anticipated The Americano at Hôtel Americano is now open, serving French fare with a Latin flair! Chef Olivier Reginensi, formerly of Daniel, presides over West Chelsea’s prettiest dining room with outdoor patio and rooftop grill.

Hôtel Americano – Chelsea Hotels

Known for their high design sensibility in their native Mexico, Carlos Couturier and Moises Micha are bringing their vision to Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood with the new Hôtel Americano.  Perfectly located in the middle of Chelsea’s art gallery district, the partners are celebrating both their love of contemporary art and their passion for Manhattan.

New York can be overwhelming for visitors. In our hotel, guests feel safe, and they feel comfortable,” says Micha. “We have this Latin American approach, so that you’ll feel the warmth.”

Set in a former parking garage, the hotel’s industrial façade & soulful interior sets it part from others in the neighborhood.  The 56-rooms feature Mexican touches, including an outdoor rooftop pool that becomes a hot tub in winter, along with very New York-style details like iPads in every room that are full of recommendations for the best local galleries, restaurants and shops.

Room amenities include Samsung LED Pro-Idium TV, Alessi ‘Optic’ alarm by Joe Columbo, free WiFi in all rooms and public spaces, iPad’s featuring updated listings of the city’s best culture, dining and wellness options; guest directory; concierge program; curated music and virtual gift shop, wooden platform beds inspired by Japanese ryokans, 400 thread count European cotton percale bedding, oversized Turkish bath towels and Japanese Imabari washcloths, Hôtel Americano custom Sharps bath products, custom Alpaca throw blankets, 24-hour room service served in bento boxes and select rooms featuring fireplaces and deep soaking tubs.

Hôtel Americano has really kept in mind what the surrounding neighborhood atmosphere is; local-produced bikes are available for guests to use to explore the High Line and Hudson River Park. Embracing Chelsea’s world-class art galleries, its multicultural residents, and its industrial past, the Hôtel Americano allows guests to feel as if they are a part of the local scene from the moment they arrive.
